DHL agreement to be part of Quimera as Funding Member

DHL Express Iberia will be part of integrated companies in Quimera Project, the first international business cluster for sustainable development in urban areas.

Miguel Borras, East Area Manager DHL Express Iberia and Javier Rocafort, CEO Quimera Project, have today signed an agreement through which DHL Express Iberia will beart of Quimera, the first private global cluster for the development of Strategic Sustainable Projects in urban areas.

This agreement marks the launching of a joint project in the area of Barcelona, through which DHL Express Iberia is committed to using a MODEC electric light truck for pick-ups from the airport to downtown, specifically in the area of 22 @ - the traditional industrial district of Barcelona turned into innovation district -. MODEC is the leader in commercial vehicles on electric propulsion and is member of Quimera Project cluster.

This vehicle has a capacity of 11 m3 and can carry up to 2,000 pounds. With a top speed of 80 km / h, is well suited to journeys by city, and has a range of up to 100 km due to the recharge complete six hours of battery integrated. DHL Express will also have a battery recharging station located in its facilities at the airport.
